Gucci Mane Has #1 Rap Album In The Country‎

Gucci Mane’s “The State vs. Radric Davis” is the #1 rap album in the country with 89K units sold in its first week of release, making it the #10 album overall according to Billboard’s Top 200. The album features Gucci’s first single “Wasted” featuring Plies, a #1 song at urban mainstream radio, and the crossover smash “Spotlight” featuring Usher. Amongst the album’s cameos is a who’s-who of urban music with guest spots from Lil Wayne, Keyshia Cole, Soulja Boy, Rick Ross, Trina, Cam’ron, Nicki Minaj, E-40 and skits with comedian, Mike Epps. On November 12, 2009, Gucci Mane was sentenced to 12 months in Georgia’s Fulton County Jail for violating his parole mandates. Pending a review of his case, Gucci is eligible for an early release from custody in 2010.

Pau Gasol Gets 3 Year Extension with Lakers

Gasol's new deal extends through the 2013-14 season. The confirmed value of the extension is an even $57 million over three years, according to official league contract figures obtained by ESPN.com. The new deal, according to a breakdown circulated Wednesday to the league's 30 teams, calls for Gasol to earn $18,714,150 in 2011-12, $19,000,000 in 2012-13 and $19,285,850 in 2013-14.

Heisman winner Mark Ingram leads six from Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama will bring a lineup powered by a record number of AP All-Americans to the national championship game. Six players on the top-ranked Crimson Tide, including Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, made The Associated Press All-America team released Tuesday.
Ingram was a unanimous choice, as was linebacker Rolando McClain. Defensive tackle Terrence Cody was voted to the team for the second consecutive season. Cornerback Javier Arenas, guard Michael Johnson and kicker Leigh Tiffin also were on the squad.
